Step back in time and explore Fort Bulnes and the legendary Strait of Magellan on this half-day guided tour – ideal for both independent travellers and cruise passengers.
Departing from Punta Arenas, we’ll drive south along the coast, enjoying scenic views and the chance to spot seabirds and marine fauna. Our first stop is the symbolic “Half of Chile” landmark, a great spot for photos and panoramic views of Patagonia.
The highlight of the day is Fort Bulnes, built in 1843 when Chile took possession of the Strait. Walk through its reconstructed houses, chapel, and defensive walls while learning stories of the first settlers. From its lookouts, admire sweeping views of the strait where history and nature converge.
We’ll also explore the Strait of Magellan Park, with native forest trails and coastal landscapes, and visit the Visitor Centre, home to interactive exhibits on navigation, flora, and fauna.
The tour concludes with the return to Punta Arenas in the early afternoon, leaving cruise passengers plenty of time to re-embark.
This excursion combines history, culture, and natural beauty, making it one of Punta Arenas’ must-do experiences.
