Uros, located 5 miles (8 km) from the city of Puno. This tour allows us to visit one of the most important attractions in the Bay of Puno on Lake Titicaca, home to an ancient civilisation that lives among the reeds, or totora groves. This Aymara-speaking community still practices skills such as fishing, bird hunting, and egg gathering to this day.
The men are skilled builders and pilots of totora rafts, and the women are skilled rug embroiderers.
Taquile is a natural island blessed by nature, located 35 km (22 miles) from the city of Puno.
The inhabitants of this island are particularly renowned for their fine textiles, which are among the finest examples of Peruvian craftsmanship. On the island, a spectacular view of the lake awaits travellers, along with a simple stone gateway that welcomes our visitors.
In addition, Taquile Island boasts beautiful landscapes and archaeological sites; however, its most valuable asset is its Quechua inhabitants, who are known for their hospitality and warm welcome to visitors.
