Experience the “Portugal city of India” Upon reaching at the hotel, your company representative will meet and greet you and then you will head for a Goa churches tour, which will include visit to Se Cathedral and Basilica of Bom Jesus. The Se Cathedral is one of the oldest, most sought after buildings of Goa and is the largest church in Asia. Located on the banks of Mandovi River, it is dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria, a canonised saint in the Catholic Church. This church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, perfectly depicts the opulence of the bygone Portuguese era and is graced with stunning Iberian façades, intricate mosaic work, beautifully-designed ceilings and wood carvings. Also, it has a church bell called the Golden Bell, which is the largest in the state. Soon after, you will head to another famous church of Goa. This UNESCO World Heritage Site enshrines the relics of Saint Francis Xavier (a Navarrese-Basque Roman Catholic missionary) and is rich in architecture and history. It was India’s first Minor Basilica and is believed to be the finest example of Baroque architecture. It has simply beautiful interiors and has a marble flooring ornamented with precious stones. Made of basalt rock, it comprises of a huge altar with exquisite carvings. It also has an art gallery attached to it that includes many oil paintings of various saints. Next, you will proceed with Goa spice tour. The tour halts at Tropical Spice Plantations in Goa, nestled amidst lush green landscapes, fruit trees and sparkling streams in North-eastern Goa, to connect with nature in the best possible way. Here, visitors are offered herbal tea and served food on a banana frond. A guided tour of this realm is a must to learn more about plantations of spices in Goa, like cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper, vanilla and many more, in a natural environment and how they are processed. After a spicy experience, your tour ends with a walking tour to Panjim’s local bazaar. It is popular for a variety of wines, cashew nuts, Goan spices and local handicrafts and authentic Goan eateries in its vicinity. After an eventful day in the streets of Goa, you will be returned to the hotel. En route, you will be driven to Miramar beach, a clean, soft sand beach popular for evening strolls and savouring beautiful sunset views.
