Travel into the mountainous countryside of Nara Prefecture to discover Hasedera Temple in Sakurai. Known as the Temple of Flowers, Hasedera is celebrated for its traditional architecture, mountain scenery and beautiful seasonal gardens. Walk through the famous covered stairway leading towards the main temple hall. Admire the traditional wooden structures, stone lanterns and surrounding landscape. The main hall offers impressive views across the wooded valley, creating a distinctive atmosphere that changes throughout the year. Depending on the season, the grounds may feature cherry blossoms, peonies, hydrangeas or autumn foliage. Seasonal flowers and autumn colours depend on weather and timing and cannot be guaranteed. The temple's main approach includes approximately 399 stone steps along a covered corridor. Guests should be comfortable with stairs and uphill walking.This stop refers specifically to Hasedera Temple in Sakurai, Nara Prefecture, not the temple of the same name in Kamakura.
