What you can expect
Your Langtang Valley Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu, winding past terraced hills, roaring rivers, and rural villages as the city slowly fades into the mountains. From Syabrubesi, the trail follows the Langtang Khola through dense forests of bamboo, oak, and rhododendron, where you may spot langur monkeys and colourful birdlife.

As you walk deeper into the valley, you pass traditional Tamang villages such as Lama Hotel and Langtang Village, experiencing authentic mountain life shaped by Tibetan-influenced culture, prayer wheels, mani walls, and warm local hospitality. The landscape gradually opens up, revealing dramatic Himalayan views, glacial valleys, and cascading waterfalls.
Reaching Kyanjin Gompa, the spiritual heart of Langtang, you are surrounded by towering peaks like Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and Yala Peak. Here, you explore ancient monasteries, visit local cheese factories, and enjoy peaceful acclimatisation hikes to viewpoints such as Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri for breathtaking panoramic mountain vistas.
