Overview

Starting on Onelli Street, a shopping centre for residents, we cross the different popular areas, until we reach the east coast of Lake GutiƩrrez, bordering the lake, we will walk through a Coihues forest, to visit Cascada de los Duendes.
After this slight walk, we will arrive at the Gruta de la Virgen de las Nieves and from there to the base of Cerro Catedral, where we will walk along the foot of the mountain.
After touring Colonia Switzerland, where the craft fair and curanto production is presented on Wednesdays and Sundays, we will continue through Circuito Chico, visiting Punto Panoramico, BahĆ­a LĆ³pez, Hotel Llao Llao, Capilla San Eduardo and Puerto PaƱuelo.
The most impressive point of this tour is the view of Cerro Campanario (optional chairlift ascent).

Cascada de los Duendes

Leaving along National Route 40, crossing Onelli commercial street, we will arrive at Lake GutiƩrrez, where we will enter the native coihue forest along a self-guided trail, to discover the Cascada de los Duendes.
Cerro Catedral

Continuing our way, passing through the grotto of the Virgen de las Nieves, we will arrive at Cerro Catedral, the largest ski centre in South America. Here we will tour the foot of the mountain to appreciate its infrastructure.
Colonia Suiza

Colonia Switzerland is the oldest area of our city created by Swiss immigrants who came from Chile in the late 1800s, nestled between Cerro LĆ³pez and Lake Moreno, on its high street, its historic houses still remain and on Wednesdays and Sundays The picturesque craft fair is held and you can also learn about preparation and tasting techniques for Curanto, traditional Araucana food. Here we will stop for lunch.
Circuito Chico

After lunch, we will continue towards the Chico Circuit, where we will be dazzled by its famous dream landscapes, such as the Panoramic Point over Lake Moreno, the natural union of Lake Nahuel Huapi and Lake Moreno in BahĆ­a LĆ³pez, we will enter the municipal forest to appreciate the native species of the Andean Patagonian Forest and discover the Escondido Lake. Through this path we will end up at the Llao Llao Hotel, San Eduardo Chapel and Puerto PaƱuelo, all icons of our city, which will undoubtedly be our favourite postcard of this walk.

To close the day and after having attended a festival of wonderful landscapes and places, we will make the last stop at Cerro Campanario, where we will have the opportunity to go up by chairlift and discover the most impressive view of the entire lake region, considered one of the best views in the world!! Point from where we will begin the return to the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.
