What you can expect

  • Spend a day immersed in the paradisiacal beauty of Berlenga Grande, a gem-like island in the Berlengas Nature Reserve. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed biosphere reserve features plenty of beaches and walkways, and a glass-bottom boat ride completes the experience.

    After convenient pickup from your Lisbon hotel, take a ride to the coastal fishing village of Peniche and step aboard a boat for a scenic cruise to the Berlengas archipelago. Arrive at the island and take some time to explore the imposing St. John the Baptist Fort, a 17th-century fortress built from the remains of a monastery. Next, set off on a walk through the Berlengas Nature Reserve, with your guide offering commentary about the area's thriving flora and fauna.

    You soon find yourself on a secluded beach with time to swim, snorkel, and relax on the sand. After making your way back to the port, take some time to grab a bite to eat before embarking on a glass-bottom boat excursion. As you drift along the island's rocky coastline, catch sights of dark sea caves and crashing waves—the perfect way to end your visit. Finish the trip with a cruise back to Lisbon and drop-off at your hotel.
