Meet your skipper at the Lake Hāwea boat ramp at The Camp and board our comfortable fishing boat, reserved exclusively for your group for a three-hour private fishing experience on Lake Hāwea. After a short safety briefing and introduction to the fishing gear, we’ll head onto the lake and choose the best areas to fish based on the conditions and what your group wants from the trip. Target rainbow trout, brown trout and salmon using techniques such as trolling and downrigging, with all fishing equipment provided. Because the boat is exclusively yours, we have more flexibility to adapt the fishing, pace and level of involvement to your group. Beginners can be guided through everything, while experienced anglers can get more hands-on and explore different fishing techniques where conditions allow. Once fishing, we use our fully electric trolling motor, meaning no engine noise while we fish. Between bites, enjoy Lake Hāwea’s alpine scenery, locally sourced treats and cold drinks on board. If you catch a legal fish you’d like to keep, we can clean and vacuum-pack it for you to take away. Catch-and-release is also welcome. After three hours, we’ll return to the Lake Hāwea boat ramp.
