Join a private, hands-on glassmaking experience in the heart of Prague's historic Malá Strana district. Perfect for travellers looking to experience authentic Czech craftsmanship, this workshop allows you to create a truly unique, personalised souvenir.
Begin with a 5–10 minute introduction and master demonstration. Sit by the glass burner (kahan) and watch a live demonstration. The master artisan will explain the safety basics, show you how the glass behaves at 900 °C, and create a sample bead right before your eyes.
Next, take the master's seat, and under direct one-on-one guidance, melt the glass and roll your very own original glass bead (vinutá perle).
Because your bead is made from real molten glass at 900 °C, it needs to cool down slowly in the atelier for at least 1 hour after production to prevent cracking. Leave your bead to cool safely, enjoy a beautiful walk around the Malá Strana area (just steps from the Vrtba Garden or Kampa), and pick up your finished handmade jewellery anytime later that day. Your bead will be assembled onto a simple, functional leather cord or bracelet for you.
