What you can expect

  • Discover how easy and fun homemade pasta can be in this hands-on cooking class in Portland. Perfect for beginners and pasta lovers, this class combines approachable techniques with a friendly, interactive experience.

Start by mixing simple ingredients including flour, water and salt to make fresh egg-free pasta dough from scratch. After kneading your dough and setting it aside to rest, you’ll work as a group with a prepared batch of dough to practice rolling and cutting pasta with a machine. Then, learn simple hand-shaping techniques that show you don’t need special equipment to make fresh pasta at home.

While you shape your pasta, Chef Sarah will demonstrate how to make a rich butter sage sauce with garlic, lemon and olive oil, then cook the fresh noodles until tender. At the end of class, you’ll sample the pasta made during the session and take home a full batch of fresh pasta to cook within the next three days.

This class can also be made fully vegan upon request.
