Overview

Pilsen Based - we have over 40 years of collective experience giving tours and working in Pilsen. We only give tours of Pilsen, we are not Chicago guides.

We raise funds for Pilsen organisations- During the summer months we give tours to raise money for local non-profits. The org keep 100% of the proceeds. We’ve raised money for Pilsen Pantry, PACH and Casa de Cultura 18th street, among others.

We are the official tour guide of Pilsen for the Chicago History Museum (CHM)- in partnership with CHM we offer public tours from May-October

We are bilingual- we offer tours in English, Spanish, or both

We offer several routes- We have multiple starting points depending on the route best for you. Running and Biking tours are available upon request.

National Museum of Mexican Art (Pass by)

The Pilsen Mural Tour is a 60-minute walk through some of the areas’ most iconic pieces of public art. We will travel through 50 years of murals that colourfully express the history, struggles, and culture of the Mexican community in Pilsen. We’ll discuss the political and socio-economic role of murals in this resilient community which is currently facing tough challenges in the city’s changing landscape. With over 40 years of collective experience, veteran mural guide and Pilsen resident, Luis Tubens will share the stories of how Pilsen became the area with the highest concentration of murals in the Midwest. Lace up your walking shoes because you are about to travel into a vibrant gallery of walls covered in culture.
