What you can expect
Prepare for the challenge with this training hike. Designed for those looking to gauge their performance before climbing Mexico's highest mountain or other mountains, this experience is ideal for improving your endurance and learning essential techniques. We depart from Tehuacán, Puebla, or we can arrange a meeting point. In a 4x4 vehicle, we will arrive at the Piedra Grande refuge (4,250 m.a.s.l.), where we will begin a hike of approximately 5 hours to the base of the glacier. Here, under the guidance of an expert with more than 30 years of experience, you will learn how to use crampons and ice axes in a real high mountain environment.
After enjoying a well-deserved rest, lunch, and photographs, we will begin the descent to the vehicle. This activity is suitable for intermediate level climbers who are in good physical condition and eager to challenge themselves.
