“Welcome to the Pesto Experience in the Marinella Bay, a unique experience that will immerse you in the authentic heart of Liguria, amidst the cliffs overlooking the sea and the enchanting atmosphere of San Terenzo.
Prepare for an unforgettable experience, where local culinary tradition blends with the natural beauty of the surroundings, while the sound of the waves envelops you in a magical atmosphere.
The day begins with a meeting at 10:30 at “la marinella,” the terraced bistro overlooking the bay, ready to welcome you with its breathtaking view and the inviting aroma of basil. As a first gesture, you will receive the official apron of the “Pesto Experience.”
During the “Pesto Experience,” you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and authentic preparation of Genoese pesto, following the ancient traditions passed down from generation to generation. We will share secrets, stories, and curiosities related to this unique sauce, discovering together what makes it so special and famous worldwide.
We will guide you through each step, from picking fresh basil to presenting the traditional technique with the Carrara marble mortar, letting you experience every moment with authentic involvement and enjoyment. During the pesto preparation, you will have the opportunity to taste a special basil and lemon-based drink, accompanied by crispy focaccia and freshly prepared pesto, to delight your palate with genuine and traditional flavours.
The day culminates with a delicious lunch featuring fresh trofie pasta rigorously with pesto, accompanied by a glass of white wine from the hills of Luni, the legendary Vermentino “Scaramante.”
Furthermore, to make the experience even more memorable, the best pesto prepared during the course will be awarded the official “Master Pesto Maker” pin.
