We will begin pick-up from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM from hotels in San Isidro, Miraflores, and Barranco.
9:00 AM We arrive in the Paracas district for breakfast. We will then walk to the Paracas pier to pass through the SERNAMP checkpoint and wait for the order to board the boat bound for the Ballestas Islands. Once aboard the hydrofoils, we will explore the wonderful marine world for an average of two hours. We will begin by stopping at the sand formation known as “El Candelabro” (The Candelabra), where our guide will explain the various theories about its purpose. We will continue sailing, with the refreshing sea breeze blowing over us, until we reach the islands and are surrounded by the abundant marine life. Sea lions, Humboldt penguins, countless guano birds, and, hopefully, a curious dolphin or two await us. You won't want to put your camera away! We will then return to the restaurant where we had breakfast, as we will receive a short lesson on how to prepare a good ceviche, in addition to tasting this exquisite dish. We will board our vehicle and head for the city of Ica on a 1-hour journey until we reach the turnoff for Hacienda Caravedo. There, we will disembark from our vehicle and board a private vehicle that will take us to the vineyard. Once inside, we will take the “Basic Tasting” tour, a short visit during which you will learn about the pisco-making process and the history of the hacienda. You will visit the Pisco Grape Boulevard, the wine press where the traditional process is explained, and the modern distillery. Time for lunch. Then, we continue on to our final stop: the Huacachina Oasis. Here, we will join the group we left Lima with and board the dune buggies that will take us up and down the endless dunes of Ica. We will also glide down on sandboards from the highest point of the desert. After this adrenaline-pumping experience, we will board our vehicle for the return trip to Lima.
5:00 PM After an exciting day, we will begin our return trip to Lima. En route, we will make a stop to use the bathroom, stretch our legs, and do some final shopping.
