Travel from Cuiabá along the legendary Transpantaneira Highway through wetlands, forests, rivers, and grasslands rich in wildlife.
Day 1 – Transpantaneira & River Safari
Depart Cuiabá in the morning and travel via Poconé into the Pantanal. Along the way, look for capybaras, caimans, marsh deer, toucans, and other wildlife.
Arrive at Pousada Rio Claro around midday for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, take a boat safari through the surrounding waterways in search of otters, monkeys, capybaras, caimans, and tropical birds.

Day 2 – Porto Jofre & Jaguar Safari
Depart early for Porto Jofre, one of the Pantanal’s best-known areas for observing wild jaguars. After breakfast, board a motorboat for a full-day Jaguar Safari.
Explore rivers and channels with an experienced local guide and boat captain, searching for jaguars, giant otters, caimans, capybaras, monkeys, macaws, and waterbirds.
Overnight: Pousada Recanto do Jaguar
Day 3 – Second Jaguar Safari & Night Safari
Return to the river for a second Jaguar Safari, exploring different waterways and habitats.
After lunch, travel along the Transpantaneira to Pousada Piuval. Around sunset, join a night safari and spotlighting experience to search for nocturnal wildlife.

Day 4 – Sunrise Safari & Horseback Riding
Begin with an early-morning wildlife and photography safari, with opportunities to search for giant anteaters and other animals.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided horseback ride through ranch lands, grasslands, and wetlands while discovering traditional Pantaneiro culture. After lunch, return to Cuiabá for drop-off at the airport or your hotel.
Seasonal Wildlife Experience
The Pantanal offers rewarding wildlife experiences throughout the year, but landscapes and sightings vary by season. From approximately May to October, the dry season generally provides the best opportunities to observe jaguars along the rivers.
From November onward, the rainy season transforms the region into a greener, more vibrant landscape. Jaguar sightings remain possible but are generally less frequent than during the peak dry season. This period is especially rewarding for birdwatching, nature photography, and observing colourful waterbirds and the Pantanal’s wider biodiversity.
All animals are wild and move freely in their natural habitat; sightings of jaguars or any particular species cannot be guaranteed. Activities and schedules may be adjusted according to weather, road conditions, water levels, and wildlife activity.
