What you can expect

  • Begin your adventure with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Oulu. Head to the Varjakka harbour to cross the water to the historical sawmill island of Oulu. In winter reach the island by trekking over the sea ice.

    Once on the island set off on about 1,5 kilometre culture walk along nature trails and unique buildings and ruins of Varjakka Island. During the tour learn about the origins of the wood industry in the area.
