What you can expect

  • The experience begins with a 15-minute panoramic multimedia presentation on large screens dedicated to the Renaissance and the three hundred years of history of the Oratory, founded by Folco Portinari, father of Dante's muse Beatrice, and later enhanced by the wealthy Bini merchant family.
    Next, your personal tour guide will take you on a detailed tour of the museum. You will be able to admire up close the Renaissance masterpieces commissioned by the Bini family, including the altarpiece from the school of Giotto and the crucifix by Baccio da Montelupo. The guide will answer your questions, tailoring the historical and artistic insights and performing a live reading of selected passages from Dante's works.
