Discover the Vaipo Waterfall: A Spectacular and Unforgettable Adventure!

Get ready for a unique experience in the heart of the wilderness! Our tour to Vaipo takes you through breathtaking landscapes, combining comfort and adventure.

It all starts with a 4x4 pickup between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. from your accommodation in the village of Taiohae. You will be guided along trails, pass through the majestic pine forest nestled in the centre of the island’s crater, and make stops at various viewpoints to admire the surrounding beauty.

Along our route, we will stop at the water basins of the Sacred Basin, a place steeped in history and mystery. Then, get ready for a thrilling hike of approximately 2 hours return, which will take you to the top of the breathtaking 350-meter (1,150-foot) waterfall plunging into the HAKAUI Valley. The views from the top are simply breathtaking!

To make the day even more enjoyable, we will share a picnic on site while taking in the natural surroundings. You can cool down with a swim in the river—it's the perfect opportunity to reconnect with the natural world.

Then, we'll climb the Grand Z to the Teivipakeka Ridge. You'll be rewarded with 360-degree panoramic views stretching from the HAKAUI Valley to the Keiaki Crater of MATATETEIKO. An unforgettable moment to capture with the setting sun!

Finally, we will return to the village via the centre of the Toovii Plateau crater, bringing this day of discovery to a close as we make our way through meadows grazed by cattle and horses.

This tour is considered moderate in difficulty, so it's recommended for you to be in good physical condition and not afraid of heights.
