The trip will feature 2 major at the northern of the main island of Okinawa, those are Kouri Island and Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in the morning. In the afternoon, we will observe the US Military base in the closest distance. Afterwards, we will go to a local shopping centre.
Kouri Island
Located just off the northern coast of Okinawa Main Island, Kouri Island is a small, stunningly beautiful island connected to the mainland by a spectacular bridge. It is famously nicknamed “Love Island” due to local folklore and a unique rock formation.
Key Highlights
Kouri Bridge: Measuring nearly 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) long, driving across this bridge feels like you are flying over the ocean.
The Heart Rocks: Located on Tinu Beach on the northern side of the island, these two coral rock formations naturally shaped like hearts became famous nationwide after being featured in a popular Japanese airline commercial. They are the reason why the island is a major hotspot for couples.
• Kouri Ocean Tower: An observation tower offering panoramic views of the entire island, the bridge, and the surrounding ocean. It also features a massive shell museum with over 10,000 specimens from around the world.
Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
Located within the Ocean Expo Park in northern Okinawa, the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is widely considered one of the best and most spectacular aquariums in the world.
The word Churaumi means “beautiful ocean” in the local Okinawan dialect, and the aquarium perfectly lives up to its name by recreating the marine life of the surrounding Ryukyu Islands, from shallow coral reefs to the mysterious deep sea.
Kadena Observation Deck
The Kadena Observation Deck allows visitors to directly across the street into Kadena Air Base, the largest US Air Force base in the Far East. This massive, open-air viewing deck juts out towards the base, offering an unobstructed, panoramic view of the vast 3,700-meter runways. Here, visitor are expected to watch different kinds of US military aircraft, and feel their roaring engines during take off.
AEON Mall Okinawa Rycom
The largest and most luxurious shopping resort in the prefecture.
Former Ryukyu Command Military Headquarters, today, it has been transformed into a massive, modern five-story shopping paradise that blends tropical resort vibes with a premier retail experience. Apart from the shopping centre and Rycom Gourmet World, there are frequently hosts live Ryukyu dance performances, Eisa drumming, and local music on its outdoor stage.
