To truly understand Naples, you have to experience it, and the best way to immerse yourself in Neapolitan culture is to explore the narrow streets and eat with the locals. Our meeting point is near the Toledo metro station, and from there, we will embark on a guided tour of the authentic alleyways that, until a few years ago, were dangerous and off-limits, winding through streets steeped in history, including the former Red Light District, once a forbidden and mysterious area.
The tour continues in the Spanish Quarter, where we will have lunch in a “vascio” (“basso”), a typical ground-floor social housing unit overlooking the street, where a grandmother will prepare a very hearty, traditional Neapolitan lunch right in front of you, consisting of a first course of pasta, two main courses, two side dishes, dessert, and coffee. Of course, unlimited wine and soft drinks are included! As we enjoy lunch together, you will hear stories about the family, the alley, and the area. You'll hear stories about Neapolitan femminielli, the ancient votive shrines, and the “munaciello,” the benevolent spirit who still haunts the old houses of the Spanish Quarter! There will also be musical surprises to make your authentically Neapolitan experience truly memorable!
Guests appreciate this experience for its authenticity and uniqueness. We are committed to offering an authentic and ethical experience, far removed from mass tourism and approaches that view visitors solely as numbers to be exploited. Our goal is to convey the true Neapolitan spirit – a spirit that loves to share culture, traditions, and human warmth with those who visit our city.
