Discover Kenya’s Great Rift Valley on a day trip combining the landscapes of Hell’s Gate National Park with wildlife viewing on Lake Naivasha. Enjoy scenic stops, guided activities, and opportunities for photography before returning to Nairobi.
Your day begins with early morning pickup from your hotel or agreed location in Nairobi. Meet your driver-guide and travel along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway for approximately one hour to the Great Rift Valley viewpoint.
Pause for approximately 20 minutes to enjoy panoramic views, take photographs, and browse the roadside shops. There is also time for a short refreshment break before continuing with an approximately one-hour drive to Hell’s Gate National Park.
On arrival, receive a briefing before beginning approximately 1.5 hours of exploration. Discover the park’s open plains, cliffs, and rock formations by bicycle or guided game drive, according to your selected package. Watch for zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and gazelles as your guide introduces the wildlife and landscape.
Pause for photographs of landmarks such as Fischer’s Tower and enjoy short guided walks where permitted. Any gorge visit will depend on access being allowed and conditions being suitable on the day.
Next, take an approximately 20-minute drive to Lake Naivasha. Enjoy an approximately 30-minute guided boat ride, looking for hippos and birds, including African fish eagles, pelicans, and cormorants. Your boat guide will explain the lake’s ecology and help you spot wildlife. Take your arranged lunch break during the lakeside visit.
You may also choose an optional 30-minute visit to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, available at an additional fee. Explore with a guide, enjoy further wildlife viewing, and stop for photographs.
After your activities, begin the approximately two-hour return drive to Nairobi, depending on traffic. Your experience ends with drop-off at your hotel or original pickup location.
