Day 1: Nairobi → Hell’s Gate → Lake Naivasha
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi. Drive through the Great Rift Valley with a scenic stop at a viewpoint for photos.
Arrive at Hell’s Gate National Park, one of the few parks in Kenya where you can explore on foot or by bike. Enjoy a guided cycling safari past zebras, gazelles, buffalo, and towering cliffs. You’ll also have the option to walk through the famous Hell’s Gate Gorge, known for its dramatic rock formations and geothermal features.
After the park visit, head to Lake Naivasha for lunch (own expense). In the afternoon, take a 1-hour guided boat ride, where you may see hippos resting in the water and a wide variety of birds including fish eagles and cormorants. There’s also an optional Crescent Island walking safari if time allows.
Dinner and overnight stay at a budget/mid-range lodge near Lake Naivasha.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha → Lake Nakuru National Park → Nairobi
After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its large populations of white and black rhinos.
Enjoy a morning game drive in search of lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and, if in season, thousands of flamingos lining the lake shores. The park is also a sanctuary for endangered species and offers stunning viewpoints over the lake.
After lunch inside the park or enroute, begin the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon with drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
