What you can expect

Embark on a Memorable Omani Adventure: Jebel Akhdar, Nizwa & Birkat Al Mouz

Join your local guide as we begin an unforgettable journey from Muscat into the heart of Oman’s breathtaking landscapes.
Our first stop is Nizwa, once the capital of Oman. We’ll start by exploring the vibrant Nizwa Souq, a lively market known for its traditional crafts, silver jewellery, fresh produce, and local delights like dates and Omani Halwa—offering a rich and colourful glimpse into Omani culture and daily life.

You’ll then have the option to visit the iconic Nizwa Fort—a true marvel of Omani architecture that reflects the country’s deep-rooted history and heritage.
If you prefer not to enter the fort, you’re welcome to enjoy additional free time in the souq to explore at your own pace.

We’ll then head towards Jebel Akhdar, the ‘Green Mountain,’ standing over 2,000 metres above sea level. Famous for its terraced fields, the area is lush with roses, pomegranates, and other fruits. As we navigate the winding mountain roads, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of rugged canyons and verdant valleys. You’ll even get the chance to explore the unique agricultural practices of this fertile region that have been passed down for generations.

Next, we’ll visit Birkat Al Mouz, a picturesque village at the foot of Jebel Akhdar. Here, you’ll discover the ancient falaj irrigation system, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which has been nourishing the village for centuries. Stroll through the tranquil village, surrounded by mud-brick houses and date palm groves, and gain insight into rural Omani life.

Along the way, I’ll share fascinating stories and cultural insights, offering you an authentic experience. Whether it’s explaining the region’s history, traditions, or hidden gems, I’ll ensure your tour feels personal and enriching. With my fluency in English, Arabic, Omani dialect, I’m happy to communicate in whichever language you feel most comfortable with.

Lunch will be a delightful treat, with fresh local ingredients and a choice of vegetarian or non-vegetarian options to suit your taste. Throughout the day, I’ll make sure you stay refreshed with plenty of water, ensuring a comfortable experience.

This isn’t just a sightseeing tour—it’s an opportunity to connect with Oman in a way few travellers ever do. Come join me for a journey through Oman’s landscapes, culture, and history, guided by a local who knows the country’s true essence.
