Day 1: Sembalun Village to Sembalun Crater Rim
We begin at the National Park Office in Sembalun for registration. The trek starts with a gentle walk through open savannah grasslands, which can be very hot during the day. We stop at Pos 1 and Pos 2 for breaks. After lunch at Pos 2, the group faces the steep ascent up the 'Seven Regret Hills' to Pos 3 and finally the Sembalun Crater Rim. The views of the sunset over the lake and volcano are spectacular from the campsite.

13:00 Begin steep ascent to Pos 3 (1,800m)

20:00 Sleep early for summit attack

Day 2: Summit Attack & Return to Sembalun
A wake-up call at 2:00 AM starts the summit push. The terrain is volcanic scree—loose sand and gravel—making it 'two steps up, one step back'. Reaching the summit (3,726m) for sunrise is an unforgettable experience. After photos, we descend back to camp for a second breakfast, then trek down to Sembalun Village.
