The National Park Worlds arouse the desire to discover the fascinating natural landscape of the Hohe Tauern for yourself. But they also allow visitors to travel with all their senses to places, periods, and areas that otherwise remain closed to people. The new “Gallery of Life,” for example, takes you into the wilderness area of the Untersulzbachtal and provides magnificent insights into this untouched spot on earth, where there is no farming: wonderful images stimulate the imagination, and river gravel and a rock slab with a mosaic of centuries-old lichens have made the journey from the wilderness to the exhibition. In the “Glacier World,” a 6,000-year-old Swiss pine disk reveals the nature of the Pasterzen Glacier in the Neolithic period, and the replica of a marine dinosaur in the “Peaks from the Seabed” world shows that 150 million years ago there was a tropical sea in the area of the Hohe Tauern. The “Glacier Friendship Book” presents leading glacier experts and their research. The “Water Realm” refers to the region's abundance of water with its 500 mountain lakes, 800 moors and streams – an impressive, oversized spatial installation takes visitors on the journey of a drop of water through the Hohe Tauern National Park.
