Day 01: Airport - Bukit Lawang (L/D)

We’ll start with a city tour—think the grand Istana Maimun, the impressive Grand Mosque, the lively Kesawan area, and a splash of colour at a local Chinese temple. Grab lunch, and then we’re off to Bukit Lawang. The drive’s a treat in itself: it’s about 86 km, takes around three to four hours, and you’ll pass endless stretches of rubber and palm oil plantations. We’ll stop along the way at the Asam Kumbang Crocodile Farm. It’s the biggest in Indonesia, and, honestly, seeing over 2,700 crocodiles in one place is something you won’t forget. Roll into Bukit Lawang, settle into your forest lodge, and unwind at the lovely Taman Leuser. You’ve earned it.
Day 02: Bukit Lawang Tour—Mt. Leuser National Park (B/L/D)
Wake up to breakfast at the lodge, then get ready for a real highlight—jungle trekking and watching orangutans during their morning feeding at 9 am, guided by a local ranger. The Bahorok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre sits right inside Gunung Leuser National Park, which sprawls across more than 800,000 hectares of wild rainforest. After the feeding, lace up for a half-day trek. The trails here are alive with birds, monkeys, and unbelievable scenery. In the afternoon, head back to the lodge and take it easy before dinner. Sometimes, the best part is just listening to the sounds of the jungle.
Day 03: Bukit Lawang - Medan - Airport (B/L)
