Keep an eye out for sperm whales, which can be seen year-round, and humpback whales, which migrate near the island between June and October. Follow respectful whale-watching guidelines, keeping a safe distance and avoiding disturbing the animals.
While cruising along the west coast, enjoy panoramic views of the Flic en Flac lagoon, the quiet shoreline of Wolmar, and the wide-open Indian Ocean. On days when whales require more searching, the full focus remains on wildlife observation and snorkelling is skipped.
