Departure from Mantua's historic centre, Navi Andes pier B1 on Lake Mezzo (opposite the Castle)
First, we will sail across Lake Mezzo and Lake Inferiore, admiring the spectacular sight of the Gonzaga Palace, which appears to float on the water. You will then enter “Vallazza,” a subtly evocative wetland area featuring water chestnuts and water lilies, from which herons take flight or otters scurry away. This is one of the most interesting wetland habitats, now protected by the WWF to enable a balanced coexistence between humans and nature. As we sail upstream towards the Nature Reserve, we will pass by vast expanses of water chestnuts, where dozens of squacco herons, little egrets, and purple herons perch. Mute swans and marsh harriers soaring above the reeds are sure to captivate the delighted eyes of tourists. The guide will provide commentary along the way.
Return to Mantua and drop-off of participants.
