What you can expect

  • We will kick off our Poncha tour at one of our meeting points in Funchal or Caniço. Ready to do the “Poncha shake”?

    Miradouro Neves: starting strong with an amazing view
    No good tour in Madeira without having some amazing views as well: our first stop is at the Viewpoint Neves, where we will introduce you with the first little sip of Poncha and explain more about the history.

    Camacha and Santo da Serra: dive into the local lifestyle
    First stop is a local bar where the owner will show us the magic behind the preparation. You want to mix your own Poncha? Help Senhora Alexandra to prepare the Poncha “Pescador” with the Caralhinho (Poncha Stick). Of course we will try our creation afterwards.

    Afterwards we will head to Camacha a small town in the mountains. Here we will find some of the best (very) local Poncha bars which you should not miss. Time for the next bar and Poncha of the day!

    Bar Nr. 3 the finale: choose your favourite flavour – cheers to us and to a wonderful tour! We will be at a place which is popular in the local community. Not only because of it’s Poncha, but also for its yummy local food.

    Back to Funchal: new friends, new memories

    We'll head back to Funchal. Your day doesn't have to end here, as we'll be happy to recommend our favourite poncha bars if you feel like having another drink with your tour buddies.
