Pick-up from your hotel
The journey to Fanal along the north side of the island will take about two hours, as we will make a few stops at various locations.
We will make stops at Seixal and Ribeira da Janela to visit these magnificent locations on the island’s north coast. Afterwards, we will embark on the secret hike in Fanal, away from the crowds, where we will see the centuries-old Tis trees (Ocotea foetens). Finally, we will conclude the hike at Fanal’s famous tourist spot.
The Secrets of Fanal hike is about 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) long, an easy hike that is almost entirely flat (about 90% of the way). At the end, we will finish the hike in the famous tourist area of Fanal. The hike lasts about 3 hours and features fauna, flora, history, and more.
The return trip to your hotel along the west side of the island takes approximately one hour.
