Morning: Departure and Start of the Hike at Ping'an Village
Your day begins with a scenic drive to Ping'an Village, the starting point of your hiking adventure. From here, you’ll set off on a 4-5 hour trek that takes you through some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Longji Terraced Fields. The well-explored trail is mostly paved with stones, ensuring a smooth yet adventurous journey. As you hike, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views of terraced rice paddies and lush greenery. Along the way, you’ll encounter local villagers, mostly from ethnic minority groups, who have lived in harmony with this land for centuries. Their traditional wooden houses and daily routines offer a fascinating glimpse into their unique way of life.
Midday: Exploring Ethnic Villages and Scenic Landscapes
As you continue your hike, you’ll pass through several ethnic minority villages, each offering its own charm and cultural significance. These villages are home to communities that have preserved their traditions for generations, providing visitors with an authentic cultural experience. The trail winds through rolling hills and terraced fields, offering countless opportunities to capture stunning photos of the dramatic landscapes. Highlights include the iconic terraced fields that resemble giant stairways carved into the mountainside, as well as the serene beauty of the surrounding forests and streams. Afternoon: Arrival at Dazhai Village and Return to Your Hotel
After approximately 4-5 hours of hiking, you’ll arrive at Dazhai Village, the endpoint of your trek. Here, you can relax and enjoy a well-deserved lunch (at your own expense) before meeting your private driver for the return journey to your hotel. If you’re staying in Yangshuo, private transport can be arranged for an additional fee.
