Escape from Edinburgh on this small-group tour and spend a relaxing day exploring some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland, including Loch Lomond and seeing a Hairy Coo or two.
Our route from Edinburgh will bring us to Loch Lomond and our first stop is the pretty village of Balmaha, with the option to take morning waterbus (£14 per person) for a serene cruise across Loch Lomond. Gliding between tree-clad islands with Ben Lomond rising above the waters, this is the ideal way to experience the tranquil waters and surrounding mountain views of one of Scotland’s most famous lochs.
Disembarking the boat, we'll arrive in the picturesque village of Luss, where stone cottages and colourful gardens line the streets. There’s time here to enjoy lunch and 'soak in' the views before our journey continues into the Highlands.
Travelling north through beautiful scenery we'll arrive at Killin, and the spectacular Falls of Dochart tumble beneath the old stone bridge, a perfect spot for photographs.
Then we'll continue a little further and pause at Kilmahog, for an encounter with some of Scotland’s most beloved residents—Highland cows, or as locals affectionately call them, ‘Hairy Coos’. With their long, shaggy coats and curved horns, these gentle giants are a living symbol of the Highlands.
Heading eastwards back towards Edinburgh and some final views of the Forth bridges, we’ll return to Cairngorms coffee shop where our adventure concludes at around 17.30hrs (5.30pm).
