At the start of the sightseeing tour, you will be given a 500ml bottle of mineral water.
The excursion will begin with pickup from your hotel in the city of Puno between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. to head to the main harbour of Lake Titicaca. After boarding the boat, we'll listen to Andean or Puno native music performed by indigenous musicians. We'll then sail to the houseboats on the lake, where we'll take a guided visit to learn about the way of life of their inhabitants, the totora construction techniques used for their houseboats, and the customs that have enabled this community to preserve its identity over the years. We will then continue our journey to Amantani Island, enjoying spectacular views of Lake Titicaca and the surrounding Andean landscape during the crossing. Upon arrival, a local family will welcome us and we'll share a traditional lunch prepared with local produce. In the afternoon, we'll hike along the island's trails, passing through fields of crops, agricultural terraces, and natural vantage points such as the energy-filled mountain called Pachamama, which offers magnificent panoramic views of the lake. During the tour, we'll be able to observe the daily life of the locals, learn about their traditions, and, depending on the season, admire some bird species typical of the Lake Titicaca ecosystem. At the end of the day, we'll share dinner with our host family and enjoy a restful night in a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We'll spend the night here. After enjoying a traditional breakfast with our host family, we'll say goodbye to the community and continue our journey to Taquile Island. During the boat trip, we can continue to admire the breathtaking landscapes with sweeping views offered by Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival on the island, we'll set off on a hike along its ancient stone paths, exploring some of its most iconic areas and enjoying privileged views of the lake. We'll learn about Taquile's renowned textile tradition, declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as well as its customs, community organisation, and way of life. We'll have time to visit the community's craft workshops and admire the work done by the local villagers. We will then enjoy a typical lunch before beginning the return trip to the city of Puno.
