We'll pick you up from your hotel in a tourist vehicle between 6:00 and 6:20 in the morning, so we can head to the Salinas lagoon.
During the tour, we'll stop at the Chiguata viewpoint, where you'll enjoy the view of the pre-Inca terraces and the panoramic view of the Misti, Chachani, and Pichupichu volcanoes. We'll continue the tour and stop at the Queñuas forest at 3,800 metres above sea level, where you'll have a beautiful view of the volcanoes and the forest of these beautiful trees that grow at a high altitude. Next, we'll also stop at Cerro el Simbral, from where we'll have a very nice view of the city of Arequipa. We'll then continue and arrive at the salt flats at approximately 8:00 am, where we'll have breakfast for about 30 minutes. After breakfast, we'll take a tour to see South American camelids like llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos. Then we'll head to a spot with hot springs, and from there, we'll take walks around the lagoon and enjoy the view it offers, surrounded by salt and its water mirrors. You can only enjoy the salt flats from May to mid-December. From mid-December to April, it's the rainy season, and during this time, you'll only be able to enjoy the lagoon and its water mirror. We'll also enjoy the lagoon viewpoint, so you can get some nice photos of the area. We'll spend 2 to 2.5 hours at the salt flats lagoon. And then we'll head back to Arequipa.
We'll be arriving in Arequipa at approximately 1:00 p.m.
