Embark on a rainforest hike in Arenal, just 20 minutes from La Fortuna, in the nature reserve of Místico Arenal Hanging Bridges. Follow a two-mile hike on a family-friendly concrete trail through dense jungle in search of wildlife and savour views of the Arenal Volcano from a new perspective.

Along the trail, pass over 15 bridges ranging in length from 16 to 328 feet (5 to 100 metres) and up to 180 feet (55 metres) in height. With such different altitudes from ground level to treetop, encounter a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Keep your eyes peeled for small insects, camouflaged birds, snakes, and mammals at ground level, and colourful birds, monkeys, and sloths hidden in the forest canopy. Listen to the sounds of the forest and feel the gentle breeze of fresh air.
