Overview

  • Escape Tokyo on a private 10-hour journey to Kusatsu Onsen, one of Japan’s best-known hot-spring towns.
The recommended route is Tokyo hotel → Yubatake → Sainokawara Park → optional swimming at Otakinoyu → Tokyo.
Enjoy steaming onsen streets, mountain scenery, local food, and flexible stop times without planning trains or buses. Swimming is optional and admission is self-paid.
Contact us at least 24 hours before departure for route requests. This is a long-distance tour: traffic, winter snow, parking, walking pace, facility hours, and bath maintenance may require changes, and not all requested stops can be guaranteed within 10 hours.
Ikaho Onsen or Minakami may be requested as alternative Gunma routes, but they should not be added to the full Kusatsu itinerary.
6- and 9-guest options include an English-speaking driver-guide who is not a licensed guide; the 13-guest option is driver only with no English guarantee.

Activity itinerary

Kusatsu Onsen

  • 1h 15m
Begin at Yubatake, the steaming hot-water field at the heart of Kusatsu Onsen. Walk around the traditional hot-spring streets, see mineral-rich water flowing through the wooden channels, browse local shops, and enjoy the distinctive atmosphere of one of Japan’s best-known onsen towns. Use part of this stop for local snacks, shopping, or lunch depending on your group’s pace.

Sainokawara Park

  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
Walk through Sainokawara Park, where hot-spring water flows naturally through a mountain valley just outside the centre of Kusatsu. Enjoy the steaming streams, free footbath areas, and seasonal mountain scenery at a relaxed pace. Admission to Sainokawara Open-Air Bath is not included. Guests who prefer an outdoor swimming experience may choose it instead of Otakinoyu, subject to time and facility operation.

Ōtaki no Yu

  • 1h 30m
  • Admission ticket not included
Choose an optional day-use onsen experience at Otakinoyu, known for Kusatsu’s traditional awase-yu swimming style. Move through baths of different temperatures, relax in the large indoor or outdoor baths, or simply enjoy the facility at your own pace. Swimming is optional. Admission, towel rental, private bath fees, food, and personal expenses are not included. Facility hours, maintenance, crowd levels, and access conditions may affect availability.
