Begin your journey into the underwater world with the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the world’s most popular scuba certification. This entry-level qualification allows you to dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18 metres with a buddy. This course is for anyone 10 years+.
The course takes three days to complete and combines online theory, confined water training, and four open water dives in the ocean.
Before your course begins, you will complete the PADI eLearning theory at home on your laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. This flexible online training allows you to learn the fundamentals of scuba diving at your own pace before arriving in Thailand.
Day 1 – Pool Training
Your day begins with hotel pickup and transfer to our training facility, where you will meet your instructor and complete the PADI medical form and liability documents if not already done online.
After being fitted with your scuba equipment, you’ll begin your training in the swimming pool. This includes a short swim assessment (200m swim without aids or 300m with mask, snorkel, and fins) and a 10-minute survival float.
You will then practice the essential scuba diving skills needed to become a confident diver. Your instructor will guide you step-by-step, ensuring you feel comfortable before moving on to the ocean dives.
Day 2 – First Ocean Dives
On day two, you’ll travel by boat to dive sites around Koh Tao or the famous Sail Rock, depending on conditions.
You will complete your first two open water dives, practising skills and exploring beautiful coral reefs under the supervision of your instructor. The maximum depth for these dives is 12 metres.
Between dives, enjoy a freshly prepared Thai buffet lunch onboard, including Massaman or green curry, rice, stir-fried vegetables, and fried chicken. Vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-friendly options are available when noted during booking. Drinking water and soft drinks are provided throughout the day.
After the dives, you will return to Koh Samui and be transferred back to your hotel.
Day 3 – Final Certification Dives
On the final day, you will complete two more open water dives (dives three and four) at Koh Tao or Sail Rock, reaching a maximum depth of 18 metres.
Once all required skills and dives are successfully completed, you will earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification, allowing you to dive anywhere in the world for life.
After the final dives, return to Koh Samui where transport will take you back to your hotel — now a fully certified scuba diver.
