Overview

After a half-hour drive, we reach the village of Vlachata to visit Michalatos Honey, a family-owned bee farm where we learn about local bee products and taste pure honey from their own apiary. We continue to Liocharis Olive Mill for a presentation given by a local specialist about the olive‑to‑oil process and an elaborate tasting. Next, we visit Saint George’s Castle ruins, once Kefalonia’s capital, offering panoramic inland views and a nearby 16th‑century church.

Your final stop is Gentilini Winery for a tour and wine tasting.

Liocharis Olive Mill is a local olive oil producer known for its high-quality and cold-pressed olive oil. In one hour, one of the owners presents the process from olive to olive oil. After this interactive presentation, we continue the visit by tasting the olive oil from a virgin perspective.

Agios Georgios

Saint George’s Castle was built in the Byzantine Era and once the capital of Kefalonia. According to many locals, the panoramic view from this castle on the inland region of Livathos surpasses the view from Myrtos beach. Nearby the castle, we see a beautiful and well-loved church that was built in 1580.
