We will begin our journey at Ikebukuro station. From there we will travel to Kawagoe. After arriving in Kawagoe we will go to our first stop, the famous Kitain Temple.
From there we will walk to the most popular spot of Kawagoe, the warehouse street. This street is filled with store fronts that occupy the Edo, Taisho, and Meiji era warehouses, In this area we will also see the Kawagoe bell tower. The bell tower is one of the most well known features of Kawagoe.
Next to the bell tower is a restaurant called Koedo Kamameshi Torisei. This restaurant sells the famous Kawameshi, which is sweat potato and eel cooked and served over steamed rice.
After this, we will go to the Kawagoe castle. These castle ruins still have the castle residence, making it one of the few castles in Japan to have the residence, but not the castle tower.
From here we will visit the Kawagoe city museum to learn more about the history of one of Japan's most unique cities.
Finally, we will head back to the trains station and return to Ikebukuro.
During the tour, we will also have the option to do sake sampling at the visitor centre which features a sake sampling machine with various sake from around Saitama.
