What you can expect

The Jersey Road Trip Guidebook is a connected multi-day journey around one of the British Isles’ most distinctive island landscapes — where medieval fortresses, Atlantic cliffs, sweeping surf beaches and quiet rural lanes unfold in natural sequence.

Covering approximately 53 miles (85 km) with just over 3 hours of total driving time, the route is best enjoyed over 4–7 days — with flexibility to shape it across 3–10+ days. Distances are short, but the island’s dramatic tidal range, coastal scenery and layered history reward slower exploration.

Rather than a simple island circuit, this guidebook follows a coherent progression through Jersey’s defining regions:

  1. The Royal East — Mont Orgueil, Gorey & Historic Harbours

Medieval fortresses and sheltered harbours define this eastern chapter. Mont Orgueil Castle rises above Gorey, tidal causeways connect offshore fortifications, and quiet coastal lanes reveal Jersey’s long relationship with France and the sea.

  1. The North Coast — Bouley Bay, Devil’s Hole & Atlantic Cliffs

The island’s most dramatic coastline unfolds here. Sheer cliffs, sea caves and panoramic viewpoints stretch from Bouley Bay to Devil’s Hole, where some of Europe’s largest tidal movements shape the shoreline.

  1. The Atlantic West — St Ouen’s Bay & Corbière Lighthouse

Wide surf beaches and open horizons define this section. St Ouen’s Bay stretches for miles beneath dunes and headlands, while Corbière Lighthouse stands exposed to powerful Atlantic tides.

  1. The Rural Interior & WWII Legacy — St Brelade & the Jersey War Tunnels

Granite farmsteads, green lanes and parish life create a slower inland rhythm. Optional detours include St Brelade’s Bay and the Jersey War Tunnels, adding deeper context to the island’s occupation history.

Each section includes:

• Scene-setting introductions that connect the journey
• Clear route progression between destinations
• Time-based guidance (what fits into 1 day, 2–3 days or longer)
• Pacing advice to suit 3–10+ day trips
• Overnight stay suggestions and base options

Pre-planned point-to-point route guidance helps you understand how Jersey fits together without overwhelming you with unnecessary options.

This is a self-guided road-trip guidebook — not a tour and not a navigation tool. It provides the structure and insight so you can plan confidently while keeping full flexibility.

Follow the full island circuit or focus on individual regions to suit your timeframe. The framework is done for you; the experience remains your own.

With 12 months of access included, please choose a booking date that allows time to plan before your trip, as access begins from the date selected at checkout.
