In my tour, which is fully guided and accompanied from start to finish, you will discover the Iguazu Falls, one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, on a private tour. Marvel at the 250 waterfalls spanning 2.7 kilometres, and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Porto Canoas Restaurant.
Start by being picked up from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu-BR or Puerto Iguazu-AR. Head to the entrance of the Iguaçu National Park, where you can purchase tickets if you haven't already bought them online. After entering the park, using my licensed and authorised tourism car, we travel 12 kilometres through the Atlantic Rainforest to the beginning of the Falls Trail.
Walk 1500 metres and 284 steps along a moderately challenging trail, marvelling at the more than 250 waterfalls spanning the 2.7 kilometres of the Iguazu Falls, until you reach the main walkway. This walkway, a bridge over the riverbed, offers you an impressive view of the largest cascade, the Devil's Throat, with 82 metres in height and the highest volume of water of all the falls. Choose to take the panoramic lift or climb an additional 450 metres of stairs to reach the top of the main viewpoint, where you can enjoy an extraordinary panoramic view of this natural wonder.
If you are looking for more adventure, choose the option PICK UP IN BRAZILIAN/ARGENTINEAN HOTELS + 4KM SÃO JOÃO JUNGLE TRAIL and have a deeper encounter with the Atlantic Forest. This extra hike has a higher difficulty level than the main falls walkway, but it rewards you by immersing you in a lush tropical ecosystem rich with unique native flora and vibrant local birds. The trail follows the scenic São João River and its smaller waterfalls, leading you past historical ruins from the National Park's original construction. Along the way, you will visit the old São João Power Plant—the city's first hydroelectric plant, which once supplied the park and has now been transformed into a charming cafeteria. Finally, the path takes you by a stunning viewpoint of the Iguaçu River, offering a peaceful and exclusive experience away from the main crowds.
After finishing the trails, take a well-deserved break to enjoy lunch at the Porto Canoas Restaurant, located conveniently inside the park. The Brazilian buffet includes a wide variety of fresh salads, continental hot dishes, and a section dedicated to authentic regional cuisine. (Optional)
You can add the thrilling Macuco Safari boat ride to your itinerary! This unforgettable adventure takes you up the river and right to the base of the waterfalls for a refreshing, adrenaline-pumping splash. (Available for purchase in the add-ons).
To complete your nature experience, you can also include a visit to the spectacular Parque das Aves (Bird Park). Located just outside the National Park entrance, it is a world-class conservation sanctuary where you can walk through immersive aviaries and get up close to toucans, macaws, and other rescued species. (Available for purchase in the add-ons).
