    With a private vehicle, this guided tour covers the full range of highlights: the towering Ushiku Daibutsu, one of the tallest bronze Buddha statues in the world at 120 metres — three times the height of the Statue of Liberty — with an lift ride to an 85-meter observation deck; Hitachi Seaside Park, famous for the seasonal blooms of Miharashi Hill; Kairakuen, ranked among Japan's three most beautiful landscape gardens; and Nakaminato Fish Market, a lively harbourside seafood hub.

    Without a private vehicle, Ushiku Daibutsu sits roughly 58km from the other sights and is not realistic to add by public transport within this tour's time frame.

    So, the public-transport version stays close to Mito and Hitachinaka, covering Kairakuen, Hitachi Seaside Park, and Nakaminato Fish Market as an easier, more compact loop near the meeting point.
