1. The seat of the Nguyen emperors was in the Citadel, which occupies a large, walled area on the north side of the river. The Citadel Complex of Hue, set up by Nguyen Dynasty from 1805 to 1945, is now one amongst the relics of the Hue ancient Capital – the World Cultural Heritage, capturing much of tourists’ attention.

Thien Mu Pagoda, It is built in 1601 between a river and a pine forest, the Thien Mu Pagoda (“Heavenly Lady Pagoda”) in Hue is one of the oldest and prettiest religious buildings in the country. Among the many interesting artefacts housed at the complex is the car that took the monk Thich Quang Duc to his self-immolation in 1963 Saigon.

Emperor TuDuc had his tomb built 16 years prior to his death and actually wrote his own biography prior to his death.
