What you can expect

  • We start at the city gate, where you get an overall impression of the Basque Country: mountains, water, fields, and Mother Earth. I'll take you through Basque history from prehistory, and you'll understand the origin of the Basque language in the Stone Age.

Then we enter the historic old town with its beautiful architecture and visit the Church of the Apple Trees.

A must-see is the Parador Castle of Emperor Charles V, with a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean.

We go down to the Marina district by the river, where you will learn about the Basque cross, a Christian-Pagan blend of Mother Earth.

I'll give you recommendations for restaurants and bars.

    Come have fun and learn!
