Hokkaido Winter Trilogy: Lakes, Farms & Volcanoes in a Snowy Poem
Experience the very best of Hokkaido in winter on this immersive one-day journey. From snow-covered landscapes to dramatic volcanic scenery, this tour offers a multi-sensory winter experience filled with natural beauty.
Departing from Sapporo, the first stop is the Lake Toya Observation Deck. Enjoy panoramic views of the vast lake surrounded by snow-covered shores, with the iconic Mount Yotei rising in the distance to create a stunning winter scene.
Winter-Exclusive Experience:
Guests may optionally choose to join a snowmobile ride at their own expense, led by professional instructors, and feel the thrill of gliding across the snowy lakeside fields.
Guests who do not participate in snowmobiling may enjoy free time at the observation area; no alternative activities will be arranged at this stop.
Please note: From late March onward, snow conditions may no longer be suitable for snowmobiling. In such cases, the itinerary will be adjusted to include leisure sightseeing around Lake Toya instead.
Next, continue to Lake Hill Farm. In winter, this hillside farm transforms into a peaceful, fairy-tale setting blanketed in snow. Guests may choose, at their own discretion, to enjoy fresh milk or ice cream and relax while taking in the snowy countryside views.
In the afternoon, visit Showa Shinzan, where free time is arranged to admire the volcanic landscape and surrounding winter scenery. Guests may also enjoy lunch at their own expense and take a relaxing break in the area.
The highlight of the tour is Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley). Step into this dramatic volcanic basin filled with steaming vents and geothermal activity. Walk along wooden boardwalks and witness the striking contrast between the earth’s fiery energy and the pristine winter snow—an unforgettable display of nature’s power.
After the tour, return to city centre Sapporo in the evening for dismissal.
