During the summer, wild whitefish and salmon are still caught using traditional methods (a UNESCO World Heritage candidate). Try your luck at catching some fish in this beautiful setting with the help of a local guide (experience to be reserved in advance).
Next, explore the traditional settlement. In the Timber Smoke Hut, hear about fishing traditions and see how whitefish grilling has been done for centuries. Learn about the history and visit the well-preserved heritage buildings, such as the wooden sheds, the ice-shed, the sawmill, the miller's house, and the two flour mills, dating back to 1840 and the 1850s.
End the guided tour with a visit to the small but fascinating fishing museum, where you’ll learn about the evolution of the area’s fishing traditions over different generations. Finally, enjoy a typical buffet lunch at a riverside restaurant before returning to your hotel.
