Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau
Begin your journey with pickup from your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter before heading southwest towards the picturesque Mai Chau Valley. Along the way, stop at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the valley before arriving in a traditional village.
After a homemade Vietnamese lunch, explore the countryside by bicycle with your local guide. Ride through quiet lanes lined with rice paddies, pass farmers working in the fields, visit traditional stilt houses, and discover local weaving workshops where colourful textiles are still handcrafted.
Spend the late afternoon at your own pace. Continue cycling, stroll through the village, or browse small local handicraft shops.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner followed by a cultural performance featuring Thai folk dances. Guests travelling in groups of five or more can also sample the region's traditional rice wine. Overnight in a comfortable village homestay.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Pu Luong Nature Reserve
After breakfast, travel to the beautiful Pu Luong Nature Reserve by motorbike or minibus, depending on the group size.
Discover one of northern Vietnam's most scenic mountain regions during a guided trek through lush valleys, terraced rice fields, bamboo forests, and peaceful villages. Learn about local life while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Following lunch in a local village, return to Mai Chau and spend the afternoon at leisure. Relax, explore independently, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the valley.
Dinner and overnight stay in Mai Chau.
Day 3: Remote Village Trek – Return to Hanoi
Start the morning with breakfast before setting off on a guided walk to the lesser-visited villages of Na Meo, Na Mo, and Xam Pa. Meet local residents, learn about the traditions of the White Thai ethnic community, and experience everyday life away from the main tourist routes.
Return to the homestay for lunch before enjoying some free time to relax or shop for locally woven handicrafts.
In the afternoon, depart Mai Chau and travel back to Hanoi, arriving in the early evening with drop-off at your hotel in the Old Quarter.
