Reset your mind and reconnect with your senses in the forest of Hakone. In our modern world of information overload, our brains are constantly overstimulated. This tour offers an opportunity to quiet the mental noise and reconnect with your physical senses through the practice of Zen Walking on the historic Yusaka Trail—a mountain path tread by travellers and pilgrims for over 1,000 years. Unlike a typical hike, this is a meditative journey. The tour begins with gentle exercises and meditation to calm the mind and awaken the body. After visiting Kumano Shrine, known as the origin of Hakone’s hot springs, we begin our Zen Walking practice on the ancient trail. Walking slowly and mindfully, you will focus on the sensations beneath your feet — the contact with the earth, the shifting balance of your body. As you continue walking, mental chatter gradually quiets, the mind begins to reset, and you may find yourself becoming more deeply aware of your body and senses.
