What you can expect

We start our walk through the history of Hamburg at Hammaburg Platz,
the birthplace and cradle of Hamburg, and learn how Hamburg got its name.

After that, we continue our tour through Hamburg's Kontorhausviertel, the former centre of Hamburg's merchants, and its brick office buildings.

We take a look under the pretty ballerina skirt of the prima ballerina of the Kontorhaus district.

We take a critical look at the founding charter of our harbour and discover a few contradictions.

We continue on to the Speicherstadt, immerse ourselves in the red brick canyons and their stories, clarify what Westphalia has to do with Hamburg, and why workers lived in a castle there.

We'll find out exactly what the quartermasters and lightermen actually did and why there are coffee barons and Persians in Hamburg.
At the end, you have the opportunity to enjoy a coffee and/or a cake in a former coffee warehouse.
