The Route
We will set off from Pisa and ride through breathtaking landscapes, immersing ourselves in local history and traditions. During the tour, you will visit some of the most fascinating and impressive places in the area:
Medici Aqueduct: We begin our journey with a stop at the imposing Medici Aqueduct, an engineering masterpiece that bears the hallmark of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany. We will stroll under its arches and admire the panoramic view of the surrounding hills.
Charterhouse of Calci: Our tour will then continue to the Charterhouse of Calci, a fascinating monastery nestled in the Pisan Mountains, where history and spirituality meet. The tranquility of this place will envelop you as we discover its roots and traditions. (There is no visit inside this site.)
Torrette di Caprona: Next, we will admire the Torrette di Caprona. A place steeped in history with a tower that stands out above the Tuscan landscape, perched on a rocky spur.
Pieve di Santa Giulia: We will then continue to the Pieve di Santa Giulia, a Romanesque church that tells ancient stories of faith and art. Its tranquility and rural charm will make you feel like you've stepped back in time.
Refreshment Stop: In the village of Calci, you can enjoy a refreshment break at the famous artisanal pastry shop “Andreoni,” where you can sample delicious pastries or sandwiches, or choose something to drink, such as an excellent coffee, a cappuccino, juices, soft drinks, etc.
